Bridal Makeup at Sedgewell Barn, North Yorkshire – A Real Wedding

We're now into the romantic month of February 2026. Its a bit drab, weathers no fun and the Winter just seems to be lasting forever. But the summer Bridal Makeup enquiries are coming in and I know the Wedding planning gives Brides and family something to really look forward to in the coming year and get them through this uninspiring, dreary forever long wet Winter.

The Trial Bridal Makeup for Kendra's Sedgewell Barn, North Yorkshire Wedding


When I finally meet a bride for her makeup trial (after lots of emailing), we go over the theme of the wedding and any details that may influence the overall makeup style. Sometimes you’re presented with something completely different — and so exciting — that you instantly wish you could be part of the whole day and soak up every bit of the fun.

The lovely Kendra came to my home for her trial last April, and I was so excited to hear about her plans for her big day the following August at Sedgewell Barn in North Yorkshire — a venue I hadn’t heard of before. And get this: it was a fun, festival-style wedding with sunflower florals, set in the North Yorkshire countryside… which absolutely floated my boat.


I had been recommended for Bridal Makeup by Simone Whitehead Bridal hair while Kendra was having her Boho inspired Wedding Hair trial and was in two minds about her makeup.

Kendra was suffering from some major hormonal issues with her skin, due to stress and it seemed to be just doing its own thing.

As I do with every bride, I took this into consideration and chose products that were unlikely to cause blockages to the skin, such as an oil free moisturiser on some parts of her skin and an oil controlling primer to hold back and oily areas without causing an out break. I used mainly Airbrush makeup, as this is completely water based without any additional ingredients and I find this works well on temperamental sensitive skin types as it lies across the skin without it being fully absorbed. I also used veil green corrective concealer for any redness and soft white diffusing powder.


Kendra got in touch with me a few days later to say her skin had coped well and was now really excited about the big day knowing all would be well with her skin and she could finally relax about her wedding makeup. I was j delighted I was going to be part of such an amazing wedding day and working with my pal Simone Whitehead Bridal hair at Sedgewell Barn, North Yorkshire.

Kendra and Timonthy's festival themed Wedding at Sedgewell Barn, North Yorkshire. 9th August 2025


As we live close to each other, we decided it would work better for Simone and I to travel to Sedgewell Barn, North Yorkshire together, and discuss the arrangements on route. One thing the venue had stipulated was that we follow the route they had given us and not to take any other routes that might take us through the village. We found it perfectly and parked up in the fields near the glamping pods.

Kendra was staying in the bridal suite called the Nest, which is a lovely purpose built cottage that overlooks the field parking which is nice and handy when carrying all your wedding makeup and hair kits.

The Nest had a lovely kitchen, and we got Kendra all festival wedding ready upstairs in the main room. Admittedly it was a little tight in there with all our kit and my chair and table facing the window for the best light, but we managed well, laughed loads, had a dance while we styled Kendra and her maids and just had the loveliest time with the bridal party.

Summer Fun & Festival Vibes at Kendra and Tim's Sedgewell Barn, North Yorkshire Wedding.


At Kendra's Wedding Makeup Trial - she told me about the plans for the big day. She was having her bright orange VW camper all decorated in orange yellow happy summer colours. They were making their own flower arrangements, floral hair crowns, their own Wedding cake and having fair ground games and catering vans And Kendra was going to wear the coolest Wedding shoes ever. How Cool? Perfect Wedding Shoes for a festival Wedding
For this gorgeous colourful Sedgewell Barn Wedding, I worked alongside the amazing Simone Whitehead Bridal hair who has been styling North East brides for over 20 years. She created a Boho style loose curl for Kendra's wedding hair which complemented her beautiful flower crown giving it the whole Festival vibe that Kendra had envisioned.
