My first introduction to airbrush makeup went like this. I remember watching 'Friends' and towards the last few series, I thought their skins looked amazing. Turns out, it was airbrush makeup. So I began to look into it further and found a supplier who came to give me a demo in the salon, this one day.
It was around 10 in the morning. She sprayed on eye makeup, foundation and blush. I looked in the mirror, and was like, “Okay, not bad,” but I wasn't exactly jumping for joy and i certainly didn't feel like I looked as good as Jennifer Anniston.
So after a hot, busy day in the salon, (didn't even have time to look at myself, let alone touch up) I went for a drink with my pals (back when I actually did that sort of thing!). It was 7 p.m and a really warm summer evening. It was when I went to the loo and caught a glance at myself in the mirror, and realised I still looked fresh as a daisy! Usually, my makeup has a mind of its own and decides to peace out halfway through the day, leaving me looking all washed out. But not this time. This airbrush stuff? It’ was still going strong, and get this—it looked even better than it did in the morning.
I mentioned the airbrush makeup to my friends and one of them said “Your skin looks fab!I thought you must have put your makeup on before you came out”All I could think was that if this makeup could 'stay put' on me through a hot hectic day, imagine how it would hold up for brides on their big, hot wedding day. The next day, I ordered the starter kit and got stuck right in.
Now, I won’t lie—it took a bit to get the hang of it. The air gun often got clogged (still does), I would get a bit of over spray into the hairline (not always welcomed) , and if the brides skin has 'too thick' moisturiser or oil, the foundation just slides right off. Oh, and covering up a zit? I would end up leaving a darker more obvious spot.
But once I got past all that, I left some pretty happy brides and prom girls ready to put it through its paces.. This little beauty revelation totally changed the game for me.
The system I chose is Dinair -Airbrush Makeup – Flawless Airbrush Makeup by Dinair which is an American company and the foundation itself is a water based with a matte finish. For a more glowy radiant finish, a spray of moist and dewy (made from olives) is sprayed over the skin. Since then, more sophisticated systems have appeared and can be purchased in the UK.

I could go on and on about the benefits, but even though its fab - there are a few who just don't like it. And that is fine too - I offer both for that reason. Some just don't like the fact that although it looks good, they don't feel like they are actually wearing any - its so soft and dry it literally does feel like like soft peachy second skin, whereas traditional foundations do feel like there is more makeup on the skin and you're more aware that its 'there' o
